Ex Sonic Syndicate singer Roland Johansson talks about his new baby, The Unguided

 



THE UNGUIDED,  the project/band featuring both former SONIC SYNDICATE singers Roland Johansson and Richard Sjunnesson as well as Sonic Syndicate guitarist Roger Sjunnesson will enter the studio to record a single together with producer Jonas Kjellgren (Scar Symmetry). Jonas Kjellgren has been involved in "Love and other Disasters" as well as the "Only Inhuman" releases by Sonic Syndicate.


Roland says that the material for THE UNGUIDED will be all new, old DODGE material will not see  the light of day in THE UNGUIDED.

"All the material for THE UNGUIDED will be new. Since I left Sonic Syndicate I have written a hell of a lot of material and it will come to good use now."

He also touch upon the writing sessions with Jesper Strömblad, founding member of IN FLAMES.

"The writing with Jesper ended up on the side if you say so. I became a father and couldn't find the time. I didn't have the inspiration when it was time to be productive. It probably was to close after I left Sonic Syndicate and I needed to get away for a while and get some perspective on things. I don't know for sure if it will become something in the future or not but I won't exclude it either if you say so."

Roland Johansson also mention that the recording of the new singel still haven't started and that they currently are discussing with labels regarding a record deal.

"We will as we (or rather Richard stated in his blog) record two songs in January that will be released. Now it seems this will be dealyed and we will record them the first weekend in February. This was the first open slot we could find in the studio and this time we will record with "alias"  Kjellgren. If we will continue to work with him in the future we don't know but we like to work with him, he's a nice dude and we think in similar circles. These two songs will probably be released in mid of February"

ACCEPT New album Stalingrad

ACCEPT have set "Stalingrad" as the title of their next album, due in April 2012 via Nuclear Blast Records. The CD is once again being helmed by British producer Andy Sneap (MEGADETH, EXODUS, NEVERMORE, ARCH ENEMY), who worked on the band's critically acclaimed comeback effort, "Blood Of The Nations".

Symphorce call it quits

SYMPHORCE, who feature in their ranks guitarist Cédric "Cede" Dupont and singer Andy B. Franck, have officially called it quits.

Commented Franck: "Seven albums, 12 years and thousands of enthusiastic fans don't make that decision easy, but after long thoughts and lots of talks we decided together to call it a day and dissolve SYMPHORCE. The heads are dead, the timetables of our main bands packed with dates, so we feel a lack of inspiration and no possibility to record more albums, play more shows with the passion and commintment needed therefore.

"SYMPHORCE will always stand for an absolute independent type of metal, but with our latest (and last) album, 'Unrestricted', we had to recognize that we have said everything we wanted musically. It was an unbelievable, intense and fantastic time!

Scorpions Comeback

 
SCORPIONS will release "Comeblack", a collection of re-recorded versions of the band's classics songs, on November 4 via Sony. The effort will be made available as a CD and on double vinyl.
